Our Ethics and Training Methods
At Moonlight Mutts we are dedicated to using only humane and effective training techniques. All of our methods are backed by scientific studies and research. Every dog is different, so your training plan will be customized for you and your dog. We will never use fear, pain, or intimidation in our training. You as the owner/caregiver will always be involved in our training sessions.

I have been training professionally for 10 years, and I earned my accreditation in 2019. As a dog trainer and behavior consultant I am committed to furthering my knowledge, and honing my skills. I started my career training alpacas at the Paca Peace Ranch for Youth/Teddy Bear Alpacas in Westcliffe, Colorado. Alpacas are flight animals, so earning their trust and building a relationship can be challenging. Let's just say they taught me a lot about patience! At the same ranch I started working with their Akbash livestock guardian puppies, Buddy and Bella, who would take over patrols after sweet old Paco passed on. I took a break from training, and worked in a boarding facility for a couple of years. There were dogs who absolutely loved staying with us! There were many more dogs who were overwhelmed, afraid, and lashing out. Seeing that frustration and trying to help them relax made me excited about training again. I love the “difficult” and “reactive” dogs. It is so rewarding to see the positive changes in their behavior. My girls are Belle and Sierra. They are big and loud, and they challenge me every day! But that's why I love them. They are my inspiration for Moonlight Mutts. In my free time I love to read, hike, and go geocaching.
